Any Porsche with PCM 4.0 or PCM 4.1 infotainment system. If you don’t know your PCM version, send us your unit’s firmware version, and we can confirm it for you. You can find your unit’s version information by following the instructions in the Before Ordering section below.

Clear instructions, and easy installation! I appreciate the fact that it is not necessary to have someone else to activate the software remotely using a PC and via the internet, as others do in providing the same service. Amazing product!
The installation was very straightforward. Follow the directions and be patient. The screen is usually showing some movement through the process until you get to the ‘final script’ which sits at zero throughout. I’d seen another reviewer comment on that so I wasn’t worried. Waited it out and it completed perfectly! I tried out the Android Auto functionality and it worked fine once I figured out that you had to give all the right permissions to AA and also to Google if you want to enable verbal commands. I probably won’t use AA much but it’s cool that I have it and it probably helps the resale value should I ever sell the car. As mentioned before, put the car on a charger!
A great product no doubt! The installation instructions didn’t quite comport with the behavior of the installation however. There were a couple of times when it wasn’t clear what to do next. The most significant was that during the step to bring up the ‘green engineering menu’, instead of that I got a screen saying ‘Settings are being loaded’. I waited about 5 minutes and nothing happened after that. So, I started writing a support email but it’s Saturday so I wasn’t going to hear anything back until Monday or more likely Tuesday since Monday was Memorial Day. I would obviously have to shut the car off so I decided to redo the previous step, which meant getting back to the HOME page and repeating the simultaneous pressing of TUNER and CAR buttons. I did that and fortunately the green engineering screen appeared this time. The rest of the installation went fine until the very last step, when it was supposed to stop with a screen that said, ‘You can go back now’ at which point you press the HOME button and you’re done. However, that screen never came up! There was a momentary screen saying the process was done (different words) and it went directly to the HOME screen after that. In the end, all’s well and it works great! But had me concerned for a few minutes and I don’t know what would have happened if I had just left it on the Settings…loaded screen and shut the car off.
Very easy install and fantastic results. Hardest part is pushing the buttons at the same time. Also, install finished automatically and rebooted on its own, no need to click on ‘All Done’ at the end.
This Android Auto and CarPlay upgrade complete my 2018 Macan S. Porsche did not offer Android Auto only CarPlay. Since I am an Android user, I didn’t buy CarPlay option. Thanks PorschePlay for this great upgrade. The installation process is so simple. I was concerned of the risks at first , but a few emails back and forth with Dan eased my concerns. So happy with the upgrade!

Received the SD card and instructions fairly quickly without issue. Instructions were detailed and well set out.
Unfortunately, halfway through the installation process I could not get the PCM to go into engineering mode as described. This halted the installation process. I have sent numerous emails requesting assistance as well as a website feedback form, but have not received any response. Very, very disappointing.
Update: Due to a server error, my emails requesting assistance were not received by PorschePlay, which is why I did not receive a response. Once this problem was sorted, they gave me some additional tips which resulted in a successful installation. So I wanted to give an accurate review, and credit when it is deserved!

You don't need any computer or device to activate Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Simply insert the SD card we mailed you and follow the instructions in the package, that's all you need. You just need to press some keys and buttons on your screen as per the instruction and you should be good to go. We promise anyone could do it themselves within 10 mins.
